Newtown represented in the annual jury exhibition of the New Britain Museum of American Art

NEW BRITAIN – A painter from Newtown is among the artists whose work is featured in “Nor’easter: The 51st Annual Juried Exhibition”, which opened this week at the New Britain Museum of American Art (NBMAA).

This event is the annual exhibition of museum members with jury. This is the opportunity for AAMNB to share contemporary visual arts with a large audience. This prominent Northeast showcase highlights the exceptional work of emerging and established artists in all media.

Roberta Shea’s painting “Sylvan Shiver” was one of 65 pieces accepted into the exhibition by curator Cristina Tafuri.

The exhibition is visible until August 29. It is presented in the Stitzer and Vance galleries of the museum.

The museum at 56 Lexington Street is currently open Wednesday and Friday through Sunday, 10 am to 5 pm; and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Admission is $ 15 for adults and $ 12 for seniors; there is no charge for members.

The NBMAA is also a Blue Star Museum, offering free entry to serving members of the military and up to five family members from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
